What a weekend... with no camera!

Auggghhh... I'm so mad that we had such a wonderful weekend and forgot the camera every where we went. Thank goodness for the camera on our cell phones!

Friday evening was the breast cancer fundraising event at Zely & Ritz. It was a wonderful event. My dearest friend Jolene did a wonderful job. As soon as I receive some pictures from Brook, I'll post. Until then, enjoy the ones from Josh's cell.

On Saturday we headed to The Sioss' for Brennan's 2nd Birthday Party!! We had a blast. Carter enjoyed playing in the pool and bouncing in the bounce house with all of his friends. It was a hot day - luckily Natasha had yummy strawberry (with fresh strawberries) margaritas to keep us adults cool. Thanks for the pictures Natasha!!

Sunday morning Mom, Josh, Carter and I headed to Carolina Beach to spend some time with my family. We had a FANTASTIC time. Carter enjoyed playing with all of his new beach toys from Mem & Pep. I don't think my Dad took his eyes off of that kid. They played together all day long. Carter and my Mom enjoyed a few walks on the beach. Carter even got to stick his toes in the very cold water with Auntie Gail & Uncle Paul. Uncle Ken and crew joined us.... of course Sam & Jag barely stopped for kisses before they had their surf boards in the water. Hard to believe they are going to be 10 in August. Auntie Gail took tons of pictures, as soon as she gets home I'll have her send me some so I can add to the post!!

The ride home was not exactly how we wanted to end our wonderful weekend. Honestly, it was one of the scariest experiences of my life. To keep it short, God was watching us, along with a lot of others this weekend on I-40. Out of nowhere this car comes from the East bound lane at full speed across the median into the West bound lane straight towards us- Josh and I saw it coming a split second before the impact, Josh's quick thinking probably saved our lives. Josh quickly swerved and we avoided the oncoming car by about 2 feet. Unfortunately, the car directly beside us was unable to avoid it and T-boned the oncoming car at 75 mph then immediately burst into flames. The impact was so close to us and so hard that we felt the concussion in our car. Thankfully, Victoria (who was driving the car beside us) was a smart young lady and climbed out of her T-top as soon as she noticed her car was on fire. Josh got to her as quickly as he could. He checked under the air bags and in the back seat to assure there were no other passengers. Of course I'm freaking out... watching him reach into a burning car. Thankfully, she was alone. We comforted her and many others along side of the freeway - it seemed like forever before the fire truck & EMS showed up. We watched Victoria's car burn to the ground. What a scary site.

The driver of the other car seemed to have been okay, as well. Of course both him and Victoria were taken to the ER. My mom spoke with Victoria tonight and she is doing well. She managed to escape this with a scrapped knee and sprained wrist. One lucky girl, if you ask me. She was very thankful to Josh and my Mom for all they did to keep her safe.
