Kenzie meets Papaw Reynolds

While we were in West Virginia Mackenzie was able to be introduced to her Papaw Reynolds.... is this not the sweetest picture?!

5 on Friday!

1. Green eyes?!? Just two weeks ago I was sure Mackenzie's eyes were turning brown. Now I'm beginning to wonder. They look VERY green these days. Now I'm very curious to see what color eyes she ends up with!

2. Mackenzie had her two month well check-up... she is perfect! Since she has her brace on they weren't able to get an accurate weight and didn't even bother trying to determine how long she is. However, we are going to go in for a quick nurse visit next Wednesday (assuming the brace comes off on Tuesday, as planned) for a true weight and height check. I'll post those stats next week!

3. Carter is obsessed with Fireman Sam. It is a very cute British cartoon on PBS. There are only 5 episodes, all 10 minutes long. He has watched each one of them easily 20 times in the last two weeks.

4. Please, say it isn't so.... Mackenzie has been drooling, like crazy. My fingers are crossed that isn't a sign of new teeth. Carter was 4 months old when his two bottom ones popped through. So, it is possible that they are making their way through her gums - I'm just soooo not ready for this.

5. My little princess is getting closer and closer to finding her thumb. The other day she managed to get it in her mouth for just a couple of seconds - you would have thought she hit the jack pot. Here she is sleeping after a failed attempt to find it.....

Remembering Papaw Birdie

Losing Papaw Birdie has been very tough. From the moment I met him he treated me as one of his own. I lost both of my grandfathers at a young age - I was fortunate enough to have Papaw in my life. I thought I'd take a few moments and dedicate a blog post in his honor. We miss you Papaw Birdie.

I made fresh strawberry margarita's in honor of Cinco de Mayo this year... yum.

These roses survived the trip back from West Virginia. I can easily say they are by far the most beautiful roses I've seen in a long time.

Barboursville Fire Department

While we were in West Virginia Carter was able to go to the local Fire station, thanks to Uncle Tracy!! I'm pretty sure it was one of the best days of his life! We all learned that Papaw Birdie was one of the founders back in 1955. Click here for all of the pictures!
