Carter's 1st Birthday!

Well, we have survived year one! Oh, what a year it has been! Since I wasn't into the whole blogging world when Carter was born, we'll have to start with Birthday Number ONE! I'm hoping to take some time weekly to give you quick updates on life... Carter's life!

On Saturday, March 29th we had a grand party for Carter's 1st Birthday! Shockingly enough, we survived......

Carter was so thoughtful; okay, so he had some help from Dad, they bought me a single long stemmed rose to thank me for all the work I did to bring Carter into this world.

I don't think you can get any sweeter than this.... one happy family!

Let me just tell ya.... Carter ate so much cake he had a super bad belly ache on Sunday! Yes, you are seeing correctly, Carter isn't the only one with icing all over his face.

Here we are having Easter Lunch... Carter was napping! A bit different from Easter last year, we ate off of TV Trays, while sharing Carter duty!

Carter's 1st haircut!

Carter totally looked like a rag-a-muffin by the time we got his haircut for the 1st time... I'm not sure what I was waiting for. I guess I was holding off due to the fact I didn't want to loose his one cute little curl in the back!

Carter is lucky enough to have his own personal hair dresser. Auntie Jackie come to the rescue and gave my little peanut his 1st haircut.

There goes the cute curl.... we tried to save it, but after it was all said and done, it just looks like your every day lock of hair.

Lake time with NO MOMMY!!

Josh, Carter and Kirby all went to the Lake to visit while Mommy had to work. They had a great few days, and I enjoyed a bit of relaxation.

Carter is WALKING!!

One March 1st Carter took his very first steps (three of them to be exact) on his own. You'd have thought Josh and I won the lottery. It was the cutest thing! Josh and Carter were hanging out in the living room, while I was putting the dishes away. Josh says Melissa, you gotta come here. As I come racing into the living room -- he does it, Carter lets go of the wall and takes three nice big steps towards his toys in the middle of the room. I jumped up into Josh's arms hootin' and hollerin'..... freaked Kirby out. It was the moment I realized my little peanut is growing up -- way too fast!!

Carter loves to help his Mommy vacuum -- hopefully, that will continue into the teenage years! Wishful thinking, I know :-)


Carter has been doing a lot of walking with his truck, he has yet to let go though. Soon, I feel it.

Daddy and Carter reading his favorite book. When you ask Carter what his favorite book is, he'll respond with Bye Bye -- which is code for The Wheels on the Bus! We read it several times per evening!

The reason the book got the name bye bye is because one of the versus is The baby on the bus goes bye bye bye, bye bye bye! Carter loves to wave as we sing!!
