Boston baby!

So, despite the difficult week the Julian family had - we did exactly what our Mem would have wanted and had a bit of fun! Some of the cousins bought Boston Red Sox's tickets and headed into Boston for the day.... being from MA and a huge Red Sox's fan, you would think that I had been to a game - WRONG! Actually, I had never even been to Boston. My reaction was similar to that of a 4 year old in a candy store.

We walked (and drank) our way around the town before the game started.

Talk about AWESOME seats.

You know me... I love to take pictures. If you are interested in seeing them all, take a peak by clicking here.

Neil (and family) & Toddy - we have an amazing family. Mem would be proud. Thanks for making this trip a memorable one. Love you all. Hugs!

Well visits.

Josh and I took the kids in for their well visits today.... remember what a big boy Carter was last year during his shots - NOT THIS YEAR! He screamed and battled with Josh the second the nurse walked in with the needles. Poor kid - he said he was never going back to 'that place'. Next sick visit outta be interesting! At least I can say that was the worse part of the visit. The kids both rc'vd a great bill of health from the doc. He said they are both growing perfectly.

Carter - 4 years
Weight - 32.7lbs - 35%
Length - 40.5 - 65%

True kid update!

So, I'm not going to make this fancy - I will just put some key dates and milestones down so at least they are noted.

Carter:

* Sometime in early January we decided it was time to lose the bedtime diaper. Our pediatrician said not to even bother trying until his diaper was dry in the morning - well, had we listened the kid would still be wearing bedtime diapers, as they were always soaked! Up until recently we (mainly Josh) would wake up around 1am and take Carter to pee - to assure everyone a dry bed in the morning. Success!! This past weekend we decided to stop waking up in the middle of the night and see what happens - low and behold, he has been DRY! So, Carter is 100% potty trained. Nice.

* Carter has been in Pre-school 2 since early February. The transition wasn't an easy one for him, as he was being transitioned two of his favorite teachers were leaving - so, there was a lot of change. However, he has adjusted well (with the help of dino month) and is really learning a lot more when it comes to reading and writing.

* On Saturday, April 3rd Carter started his first week of Mini-Pro's @ DreamSports in Apex. He will have two weeks of basketball training, t-ball, soccer and flag football. He really enjoyed himself. I am hoping this will allow him to get a feel for a few different sports - ideally picking one or two that he really wants to focus on next season!

Mackenzie:

* In February Kenzie moved into the toddler room at school and it was a simple transition for her. She loves it, eats well, plays well with others, and is even taking a nice long nap on her mat.

* As far as teeth are concerned, she now has three out of the four 12 month molars. All of which came in at just about the same time... of course all the while she was recovering from a virus that kept her down for the count. Poor little thing just wanted to sleep. Josh and I tag teamed with staying home from work to assure she made a full recovery. One day Kenzie took a 5 1/2 hour nap and still went to bed on time. Poor little thing. Now that the virus has run its course and the teeth have mostly broken through the gums she is a much happier camper!

* I feel like Kenzie has digressed in the talking department. For a while she was at least saying momma, dadda, dog and something for Carter... however, that has all stopped. Even though she isn't saying much - she sure does have a lot to say! Luckily, she is a master when it comes to sign language. So, it isn't too often we don't know what she wants.

* Miss thang has an AT.TI.TUDE - BIG TIME!! Full blown on the floor attitude. If she doesn't get what she wants, when she wants it, look out. She is a hot mess. I will apologize to all the future boyfriends out there now; she certainly has Julian in her.

I am sure I'm missing some key things - but, this will have to do for now. My brain is fried.
