While we were waiting to get discharged Mackenzie gave me a very special gift... a beautiful necklace that had a double heart charm on it that had both of my babies birth stones it in. Stunning! I'm pretty sure that is when it truly set in that I have two beautiful children.

Heading home.....
Things were going so nicely, we were able to get discharged only after two nights in the hospital. After a c-section they often want you to stay three nights.... however, I was ready to go home. I didn't think that would be the case, as having all the hospital staff help only comes once in your life. However, I was ready to sleep in my own bed and see my little man! After being home for less than an hour I was beginning to have second thoughts and wished we would have stayed in the hospital.... but, that quickly passed once I saw the sparkle in Carter's eyes when he held Mackenzie during book time. It was just perfect looking at my babies snuggled with their Daddy! Night one at home went fairly well, I am certainly glad we had Nana, Granddaddy & Auntie Ramie here with us to help.... we are so fortunate to have such a good support system!

Happy Birthday Josh
I did my best to try not to let the arrival of our little princess over shadow Josh's birthday this year - but, considering we were going in the following day it was a bit hard. I did what I could 38 weeks pregnant!! Here are a few cute shots of us celebrating Josh's birthday!

Helping Daddy open his presents!
Yup, Carter knew ahead of time how much Josh was going to need that once our little princess arrived.
My two best boys!
Too cute!

The end is here!
Honestly, I didn't think we'd make it till the 24th. But... here we are, the afternoon of the 23rd (Happy Birthday Josh) and all looks like it will go as planned tomorrow. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared as hell, frankly I'm terrified. For many reasons!
This past weekend Josh and I really tried to make it all about Carter. Here are a few cute shots to tie you over until the little lady arrives.

Friday's Five!
1) Josh & I spent some time over the last few weeks to put the final touches on our little girls room. It looks great. We are ready for her… or at least as much as we can be at this point.

2) A great big shout out to all my dear friends that have been so gracious to come and visit while I have been on bed rest. It is great to have such wonderful friends.
3) We are still on schedule for the 24th of February. The doctor is keeping me on bed rest until d-day, to assure the contractions stay in check and I rest and relax.
4) This week Carter has been showing a lot of signs of anxiety. I'm guessing he is sensing his world is about to be flipped up-side-down. We are doing our best to spend as much time with him now as possible. I know it is going to be a challenge once we are a family of four, but we will make it!
5) Next post should be pictures and details of our little princess.... stay tuned!

Valentine's Day!
Valentine's Day started on Friday for me... Josh brought home a beautiful bouquet of white lilies with red tulips. I have never been a fan of spending a fortune on roses, just because Hallmark tells us too! So, these were PERFECT!

On Saturday evening Josh and I exchanged our small gifts to each other and enjoyed a wonderful Southern dinner.... ribs, mashed potatoes and slaw. Nothing says I love you like BBQ sauce all over your face!
Today we exchanged our Valentine's with Carter and Grandma! It was a nice weekend. If all goes as planned we only have one more weekend just the three of us. So, we really wanted to spend as much time as possible this weekend as a family of three!

Here are a few pictures of the flowers a few days later.. they opened so beautiful.

More snow!
We woke up this morning to a Winter Wonderland. It was that perfect snow.... coated all the trees, looked beautiful, yet didn't cover the driveways or roads - and best of all, was melted by noon! We almost didn't even get to play in it. Carter and I had a hair appointment with Auntie Jackie and by the time we got home just about all of it had melted. Luckily, we had a small patch of shade in our yard - so, Josh, Carter and I went out and had a snow ball fight. Lots of fun!!

No power?!
When Carter and I returned home from school yesterday we had no electricity. With 50 mile an hour wind gusts, a power line must have went down. I wasn't that concerned at the time, since it was still daylight. As the night progressed and we still had no power the evening got pretty entertaining. Carter thought it was the neatest thing..... we pretended we were camping. We turned the fireplace on, built a tent and snuggled in our sleeping bags. Dinner was a challenge - I mean what does one do without her microwave?!?! LOL. We ended up having cereal and a bagel in front of the warm fireplace. Every night before bed we watch a 30 minute show on Noggin - well, with no electricity we couldn't do that. Carter wasn't sure how to handle that. Luckily, a few years ago Granddaddy was smart enough to buy us a mini generator. So, we plugged up our portable DVD player, stuck in Bob the Builder and Carter was as happy as pie!
You can't really tell in the pictures, but we are hanging out in the dark with only the fireplace and a few candles for light.
