Brrrrrr....

The snow storm of 2010 started about 7pm on Friday, January 29th. The weather man predicted about 5 - 10 inches for our area - I think once it was all said and done we ended up with about 5 1/2 inches in Apex.... of course I was totally shocked the weather man was actually right for a change!

Carter & Granddaddy managed to build "Frosty"... of course you know it had to have a WVU hat on. Let's go Mountaineers!

Of course we didn't have a sled.... so, we had to improvise!

five.on.friday

1. With the Holiday’s behind us I feel that we can finally focus on the nursery. I think I have everything I need; it is just a matter of organizing it all.

2. Carter is really enjoying his new big boy bed. It has continued to go smoothly, thank goodness. His dresser came in while Josh’s folks were visiting – so, lucky Granddaddy got to help Josh put it together. I spent almost two full weeks looking for the cool big truck knobs I had bought with his bedding…. finally found them!

3. I woke up this morning to this little lady with the hic-ups. I experienced them a lot with Carter, but hadn’t felt them with her until today. It was pretty neat to feel them again.

4. Since Carter’s 3rd birthday will only be 4 weeks after his little sister arrives, I’ve decided to start thinking about his party! We aren’t 100% sure what we’ll be doing this year; but, Carter seems to think having it at a bounce house will be the way to go. Knowing that I’ll still be recovering from my c-section, paying someone else to do all the work sounds good to me!!

5. I've been put on light bed rest... what exactly does that mean, you ask?!? I have to take it easy - as few steps as possible in any given day. So, I've been working from home following doctor's orders! It isn't easy, since there is a ton to do around the house - but, I don't want it to last any longer than it has to. As it stands right now, I'm to take it easy until my follow up appointment on Tuesday morning. There is nothing to worry about, not yet at least. This little lady of ours is ready to make her grand entrance into this world.... as much as I'm ready too; she has to cook for a few more weeks. So.... I'll rest and relax!
