Halloween 2009
Carter had a lot of fun filled activities planned this year for Halloween. On Friday he had a parade at school.

On Saturday morning he had a costume play date with Noah (I forgot the camera).

Then Saturday evening we ventured out for some trick-or-treating. At first Carter wasn't quite sure; but, once he got the hang of it he was all about getting more candy!!
I think the highlight of his evening was actually giving out candy to kids who knocked on the door, then waving good-bye to them!

Trip up North!
Since Carter had never met my Mémère, I decided it was high time to make the trip. So, we bought tickets a few weeks ago - and off we went. We flew to New York on Saturday, October 24th - visited with The Rogers, then drove to MA on Sunday. We spent Sunday visiting with family - and enjoying the New England weather. It was surprisingly mild. We drove back to MA after visiting Mem and spent another night in New York with our friends! It was a short and hectic trip - but well worth every second.
Here are a few highlights of our trip. For all pictures, check out the Picasa link.
Carter's 1st plane ride and he gets to sit in the pilot seat - how cool.
Gerry joined us early on Sunday for a play-date. They had so much fun together!

Bye-bye na-night (aka paci)
Pawsome pony - $18.00
Blue plaid shirt - $6.00
Carpenter pants - $6.00
NO MORE PACI - PRICELESS!!
Carter is na-night free... Thanks to a dear friend Susan, we decided to take Carter to Build-a-Bear and allow him to pick out an animal to stuff his paci into. Brilliant - I know!! He picked out the tackiest animal in the place.... and without hesitation put his na-night right into his stomach along side of all his stuffing and three hearts - one from Carter, one from me, and one from Josh. Carter was so focused on picking out clothes for his pony he hardly even realized what was going on. They had all kinds of fun stuff to choose from – yet, he picked the simplest plaid shirt with matching khaki pants. Carter helped make Nay-Nay’s birth certificate – then the nice lady put him in his stable (box) and off we went. That evening we joined my mom & sister at a Japanese steak house. Carter was thrilled to watch the man cook for us!! When it was time for bed we weren’t quite sure what was ahead…. Carter asked about his na-night a few times, we reminded him it was inside of Nay-Nay’s belly and he could snuggle with it whenever he wanted to. The rest is history…… Now let’s hope transitioning into a big boy bed will go just as smoothly!
Waiting in line for his stuffing!
Bye bye na-night!
Josh making sure it is in there good! We didn't want him to think he could tear that pony up to get it out :-)
A proud new owner of a little pony!
Sorry the pictures aren't that great - I totally forgot our good camera. I will get a close up of Nay-Nay soon and post!

10 on Tuesday
1) Carter’s new big boy bed is underway. Josh has put together the blue print for it and will start building it tomorrow.
2) It is official – Carter is now peeing in the potty standing up. We will be calling in my dad here soon to repaint the bathroom wall, as it has had its fair share of splats. Thank goodness for Clorox Anywhere!
3) The transition to the new school is going… slowly. Lil’ dude is not huge on change. We are taking it one day at a time. I’m dreading the day I have to do drop off.
4) I’m pretty sure Carter is going to be a Fireman (like Mr. Tom) for Halloween this year. We’ve tried on several costumes – and he is gravitating to his norm.
5) In less than two weeks we’ll be heading to NY & MA. I am super excited to see friends and family. It will be Carter’s 1st airplane ride and he is stoked!
6) We attended a neighborhood BBQ this past weekend and met quite a lot of folks with kids… very refreshing. Without a neighborhood pool, we weren’t quite sure how we’d meet people.
7) For those that haven’t heard – we are having a GIRL. Carter seems to be accepting the news very well. He kisses his baby sister every night before bed. Even gives her knuckle bumps and high fives. Too cute.
8) Carter has completed Aquatots Level 1 & 2 @ Triangle Swim School. Level 3 starts in two weeks. He is really enjoying it and learning a lot. Josh’s parents were lucky enough to attend a session recently – I have lots of pictures I’ll be sharing soon!
9) Don’t freak out… there are only 71 days until Christmas! Auggghhhh…..
10) If you haven’t noticed yet, I have a baby-gaga ticker at the bottom of the blog. It is fun to read weekly to see how we are progressing.

Florida!

While I was away....
..... Josh & Carter had some quality time together! I spent four days in Florida for a conference. It was hard being away from my boys.
Luckily, I was able to talk on the phone with Carter quite a few times!
Ridding his choo-choo train.....
Choo-choo train turns fishing boat. The imagination on this kid is amazing!
Time for some Thomas!
And another phone call to Mom! I'm pretty sure he is hanging up on me in this shot.

Chocolate chip cookies.... from scratch!
You read that right... Carter and I made homemade chocolate chip cookies! YUMMY!
You guessed correctly - we indeed had flour all over the place. That is what makes baking with your kids fun - right?!?
Carter and Daddy enjoyed the finished product before bed.
He had a few bites then told me he doesn't like chocolate ---- WHAT?!?!?

1st day @ new school
Well, as most of you already know we moved Carter to a school a bit closer to home. It was a hard decision - but, with number two on the way we felt now was the time. We lucked out - Noah moved too!! Carter has had a rough go at it thus far. However, I'm certain over time he will have made new friends and fit right in. We like his teachers - though they will never replace Ms. Dawn.
Ride to school on day one!
There is NOAH!!
Enjoying the rest of his breakfast before Dad left. He cried on and off all day. Poor lil' guy.
