Big boy!

Carter spent a good majority of Sunday in his big boy underwear! He is getting the hang of peeing on the potty. It is a lot more work than I ever imagined!

Rob, Natasha & Brennan came over Sunday afternoon for a little fun in the sun! The boys had a blast playing in the pool together.

Memorial Day - May 2009

We spent Memorial Day this year enjoying great food with wonderful friends! It is unfortunate that we all can't get together more often -- because when we do we have a GREAT time! Shane & Brandi - thank you so much for welcoming all of us into your home! We miss all of you!

Here is a great shot of all the BOYS!

Fun at the park!

Monday morning Auntie Sue & Josh took Carter to the park while Mom & I stayed behind and relaxed!

Carter was a bit uneasy stepping on this at first... Auntie Sue is assuring him it is safe!

Down the slide he went......

Running through the tunnels.

Swinging higher and higher!

They even got up close and personal with the geese!

Sunday dinner.

Auntie Sue had some of her closest friends over for dinner on Sunday - and it was fabulous. Wonderful food was served, fantastic wine was sipped, awesome conversations were had and new friends were made!

From the moment they met - Carter idolized Hudson!

Serious stuff was discussed.

Vandalia Festival

On Sunday morning we headed to the Vandalia Festival. It was your typical arts and crafts fair. We enjoyed walking around - I even did a bit of shopping. I purchased two new Sushi dishes!

West Virginia has the nicest State Capital Building.

Carter had his 1st ear of corn for the season - he enjoyed it. I'm not sure any of us even got a bite.

On our way out Carter got to throw a few pennies into the wishing fountain.

Caterpillar & Yoga!!

On Sunday morning I discovered a caterpillar right next to my mom's coffee mug. Of course my first thought was get that thing outta here... however, my mom had another agenda! She picked it right up and brought it to Carter - he thought it was pretty neat, just as long as it was on Grandma!

It took him a few minutes before he was interested in holding it!

Most of the regulars reading my blog know that my Auntie Sue is a certified Yoga instructor. She and Carter spent a few mornings doing their daily yoga poses on the back deck. It was very cute to watch Carter 'learning' from Auntie Sue!!

Purple flowers!

Auntie Sue has some beautiful purple flowers outside her front door. Josh got some wonderful shots!

Feeding the birds!

Our 1st morning in West Virginia Auntie Sue taught Carter how to fill the bird feeder. It didn't take him long to get the hang of it.

I don't have a clue what they were discussing - but, it looks pretty interesting.

Hanging the feeder!

A job well done.

Last minute decision!

Around 8am Saturday morning my called and said she wasn't feeling well, therefore, she couldn't babysit Saturday evening as planned. Knowing that all of The Lipscomb's would be at Nana & Granddaddy's we decided to hit the road. We were out the door 30 minutes after we decided to leave. When Josh called his mom to be sure it was okay if we visited he said she was so excited it was if she had just won the lottery - too funny!!

When we arrived (after 4 hours of NON stop talking on Carter's part) we found Mimi & Granny relaxing on the porch. They looked so cute chatting it up together.

Saturday evening we rc'vd a quick rain storm. Carter and Nana decided it would be fun to dance in the rain... I LOVE IT.

Carter even danced off one of his crocks!

Picture perfect!

Snuggled up with Granddaddy - trying to warm up!

The girls... with Carter-man.

Carter really enjoyed the pool this trip. He was not scared one bit to get on his little water board and kick all around the pool. He told me he wanted to surf like Sam & Jagger.

Unfortunately, we didn't actually get a boat ride in this trip - however, Carter & Granddaddy would not let the weekend go by without putting on their Captain & First mate hats for a little fun on the boat.

Josh & Papaw Birdie. Did you ever get the soup hot enough?!? LOL!

Tyson & Uncle Tracy getting ready to go out and catch us some dinner!!

Auntie Ramie & Carter looking for the birdies early Sunday morning.

We had a fantastic trip - I'm really glad we made the last minute decision to go. We took a lot of pictures, I'll be sure to get them posted on Picasa soon!!
