Quick one

When I picked Carter up from school the other day his teacher showed me the funniest picture of Carter sleeping - I just had to share. Apparently, before he will fall asleep, he has to have a baby doll - and his arm must always be touching the doll. As you will notice, Carter is sleeping on his back - he never does that. He is your typical butt in the air sleeper. Crazy how different they are while at school vs. home.

Enjoying the outdoors.

It is safe to say the best thing about the new house is a yard to play in. Kirby & Carter both love it very much. As soon as Carter and I got home from school and work it was outside we went.

Growing up my Dad spent many evenings teaching me how to hit a baseball. So, I thought I'd continue the tradition. Carter got the hang of it right away... maybe he'll be just as good as Pep one day.

One of the 1st times Carter visited the house he spotted this frog - he has been attached to it ever since. It is a small water feeder for the birds, Carter insists on filling it with water every time we go outside. He'll yell BIRDIES... WATER! One day they may actually listen... right?!?

Taking a little sample for himself....

Slowly but surely!

The last few weeks have been mentally and physically exhausting... but, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. The quoted 4 hour move ended up taking 11 long hours. It was after 7pm when they left on Wednesday evening... Josh and I spent 4 straight days cleaning, organizing and unpacking. I have a pretty good idea where all the important stuff is - a side from that, it is still an utter mess. How could three people have so much S!@#.

For the most part we are all adjusting well. I had trouble sleeping the first few nights - finally exhaustion set in, I slept like a rock last night. With the exception of a small melt down on Friday after school Carter hasn't skipped a beat. As we were pulling into the drive way of the 'new' house - Carter looked at me and said no new house Mommy..... home. My heart broke into a million pieces... Carter's however was mended quickly by the sight of his bike in the garage. I couldn't move all the boxes quick enough. We were in the cul-de-sac in no time... not a word since.

Saturday evening Rob, Natasha & Brennan came over and helped us break-in the new digs. They hadn't seen it since all the painting was done. We actually got to eat dinner at the dining room table - always more comfortable than the floor. Thank you very much for the beautiful house-warming flowers and bottle of champagne. YUM!

It was gorgeous on Sunday, so Grandma came over to play outside with us! We had a great time playing on the swing set. It needs some some work, but will do for now.

Our new house is finally starting to feel like home for all of us.

Progress is being made!

This weekend consisted of building shelves for the pantry, as well as a TON of painting. Josh's Dad, my Dad, Trish and Josh were busy busy this weekend. Mom and I were on Carter duty. Most would say that was the lesser of two evils - not this weekend. Carter has the funk, so he wasn't in the best of moods. However, we made the best of it. I took a ton of pictures - check out the Picasa album "Painting new house - March 2009".

Silly boy!

Just a quick one.... as I mentioned before, most of Carter's toys are already at the new house, since they were all in the POD. Which has led us to getting creative. He has enjoyed playing with a storage tub. Why do we spend money on expensive toys?!? I think he thought he was going to get to sleep on the tub the other night.

Beautiful snow pics

On Josh's way to the new house he took a few pictures. This is a little old house on a county road. Makes for a gorgeous picture.

Playin' in the snow... in MARCH!

We woke up to about 4 inches of snow on Monday morning - Carter had a GREAT time playing in it. Hi Daddy!

Mini snow man.

Of course Carter is all boy... the snow man turned into baseballs really quickly.

Check out the arm on my little man... pro-baseball you say?!?! Let's hope!

Carter's 1st visit to the new house!

Since we rented the house back to the previous owners - we were not able to get in until 10am on Sunday. Here's Carter seeing it for the 1st time. He loved being able to run... and run!

Why he felt the need to scoot around on the floor is beyond me. Kirby liked it too!

Carter has been a trooper - we put about 80% of his toys in the POD. He was very excited to see his big trucks!

There is more than enough room in the new place for him to ride and ride.

Rob, Natasha and Brennan came over to check it out - and to help Josh get a few heavy items out of the POD.

Carter & Brennan enjoyed the new play room.... please note the curtains and color are GOING this weekend. We're thinking Sage green... thoughts?!?

We had a few beers and ordered pizza! Fun times in the new house! If you look closely you will realize Carter doesn't have a shirt on - crazy kid wanted me to take his sweatshirt off. Don't ask! About two seconds later - Brennan's had to come off also.
