Rainy boat ride!
After Carter's nap on Sunday we headed out for a boat ride... it was warm enough for it, unfortunately we got caught in a bit of rain. Nothing we couldn't handle.

The big wheel
Carter rc'vd his first big wheel from Nana & Granddaddy.... Carter had a long day opening gifts, so it was after dinner when we got around to opening his big wheel.
Of course we had to try it out right away! Here's Carter giving it a rock in the living room!
Then we decided it was best to go for a real ride.... outside we went, all of us! Since it was foggy and rainy we decided to just go around the drive way a time or two.... 1st thing the next morning Carter and Granddaddy went on a real ride.

Christmas w. The Lipscomb's
Round 4... by now Carter Man is an ol' pro with the whole gift opening thing! We had a fantastic time celebrating Christmas with everyone. Carter was able to spend the day with Granny, Nana, Granddaddy, Auntie Ramie and Uncle Mattie.
Carter helped pass out the gifts - as tempting as it was he didn't open any until it was his turn.
Carter, Nana & Auntie Ramie made everyone a beautiful bookmark and card that had an adorable picture of Carter on it. Nana was so thoughtful, she made one for my mom and dad, as well. Here is Carter giving Granny hers. Very special.
Can you believe they even make spoons & forks in the shape of trucks?!?! I couldn't either.... as you can see below -- they do, and they are a little boys best friend.

Reading with Granddaddy
As soon as Carter saw all the gifts that Santa left at Nana and Granddaddy's it took a lot of work to keep him out of them. So, after we celebrated Nana's Birthday Granddaddy read several books to him to keep him occupied.
As you can see, it only worked for a few minutes. I'm not sure who gave in first - but, Carter was lucky enough to open one gift before morning! Auntie Ramie gave him a real Fire Man outfit. He enjoyed riding around on his firetruck putting out fires!
Can you get any cuter.... I don't think so!
Happy Birthday Nana!

Christmas w. Grandma & Auntie Mallory
On Christmas afternoon Grandma & Auntie Mallory came over for yet another round of gift giving. We had a wonderful visit. It was really great to spend some time with my little sister. She is so go-go-go (I stole that from Brennan!), I don't get to see her nearly enough. Carter enjoyed his Auntie Mallory time too!
Carter got a really cool Thomas the Train ride along from Auntie Mallory - it was a huge hit.
Sweet Auntie Mallory, enjoying some family time. Okay, so I'm sure she was ready to be with her friends.... but, she put on a good front!
Little Peanut riding his choo-choo train.
After a few boxes of clothes Carter decided it was more fun to sit on the presents :-) Crazy kid! Turned out there was a really cool toy in that box.
Reading with Grandma before PJ time. Very sweet.
Christmas Morning
Josh, Carter and I had a nice quite Christmas morning just the three of us. It was really wonderful. Carter really got into present opening this year. Of course the process was a long one, since he had to play with everything as he opened it.
Here's Carter & Daddy coming down the stairs to see what Santa left.
Wow Mommy -- are these all for me?
A tradition in my family has always been to open your stocking first. So, we've decided to keep the tradition going. Carter wasn't all that trilled with the socks and toothbrush - but, he loved his little match box trucks!

One of the first things Carter opened was a new puzzle, I think he played with it for 30 minutes before he was interested in moving to the next gift.

Here he is waiting for Josh to open up his new big truck. I'm convinced toy companies have stock in twist ties.... really, is it necessary to have 10 on one Tonka Truck?

After all the gift opening was finished Carter helped Mommy clean up -- getting ready for Grandma and Auntie Mallory's visit.
Mac & Cheese for lunch before nap time.

Christmas Eve 2008
Mem & Pep joined us this year for Christmas Eve. At first Carter wasn't quite sure what to do with all the gifts under the tree; however, it didn't take him long to figure it out.
Here is Carter opening his bowling balls -- yes, life sized. Never under estimate my father!
Since it was nice out we had to go outside and bowl.
Poor Josh, he must have reset the pins 100 times!
Here is Carter popping his head outside of his nice big Thomas the Train TENT! Ummm... did you forget we live in a townhouse?!?!
Carter wasn't the only one that made it inside of the tent -- Mem had to sneak a peak too!
Here is Pep teaching Carter how to hit a ball off of his new T-ball set.... yup, in the house?!?! Thank goodness winter in NC won't last much longer so we can take this game outside!
At least they were smart enough to aim away from the TV.... I'm sure Josh appreciates that!
Thank you Daddy & Trish for all the great gifts. We had a wonderful visit. Love & miss you bunches! Hugs!

We had a crew over on Sunday for our Fantasy Football Finals.... we had a good time, maybe a bit too much!
Brennan & Carter are really playing well together these days. It is a lot of fun watching them together.

Tom & Kathy stopped by for a few minutes on their way home from Virginia.
