Marbles Kids Museum

On Saturday Josh and I took Carter to the Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. We had such a great time.

Not sure we'll have a Fire Fighter on our hands -- he wasn't too fond of the uniform! However, he sure did look cute in it.

Carter walked right up to the Wheel Barrel -- and knew exactly what to do with it! Very cute.

Josh and Carter ventured out on to this huge glass overlook -- Mommy wouldn't dare.

Melissa, Madison & Janae joined Carter and I at the pool today -- we had a great time. I was able to get a cute shot of Janae before we ventured to the pool.

Denise... 26 weeks prego!

Here is a cute shot of Denise -- finally showing! You look great girlie.

New Friends!

A few months ago over lunch a dear friend of mine Cathy asked me if I would be interested in meeting a new friend -- one with a little guy the same age as Carter?!? Cathy was convinced we'd hit it off -- of course, you just never know! So, Cathy had a make your own pizza party at her house -- and the rest is history. We had them over on Saturday night for burgers - thanks for the yummy pasta salad! Not only did Josh and I gain new friends -- Carter has a bud, one that may just possibly be his best friend growing up. Rob & Natasha are great -- we're even thinking of storing a toothbrush at the house for them... heehee!! As Natasha put it, they had too much of the "special tea" so they crashed!

Brennan & Carter really enjoyed playing in Carter's tent.

I think they are playing peak-a-boo in this shot -- too cute!

Look at the expression on Carter's face -- he knows the dog dish is off limits....

Waiting on the steps for bed time...

Rob getting ready to take the boys up to their cozy beds so the grown ups can play some cards!

Addiction?!?

Some people are addicted to drugs, others to booze -- me, I think it is safe to say I'm addicted to the infamous world of bloggin' (though, it may have some thing to do with the cup o' coffee I had at 3:30pm!) It is 10:30pm -- way past my bed-time. Never do I stay up long enough to watch the 11 o'clock news.... tonight I may!

Up close!

Carter and I were playing outside today after school -- I took advantage of this time by getting creative with the new camera. Here is a cute shot of Carter -- up close and personal.

Too cute not to blog....

Those that know me can attest to this statement -- "it took a lot out of me to blog my peanut in a UNC hat!" All boys like to wear their dads hats -- right?!? Please tell me he isn't already a TARHEEL fan?!? No way.... it can't be happening. I'm going to have to bring out the RED -- NOW!! NC State BABY!

We did it....

Josh and I finally splurged and bought ourselves a SLR Camera. After weeks and weeks of research; as well as talking to friends with a SLR Camera -- we decided on the Nikon D60.

The Croup

Carter has croup (krōōp) a condition resulting from acute partial obstruction of the upper airway, seen mainly in infants and children; characteristics include resonant barking cough, hoarseness, and persistent stridor.

This isn't the 1st time either -- I think he's had it three times now. His peditrician said it is one of those things that some kids are prone to. Josh and Carter had a sick day today -- for those of you that remember the jeep picture from the sick day, will realize there just may be a trend here.

Check out a few videos Josh took today -- while they were home sick!

Watch closely -- yup, you see correctly!!

New Feature!!

For those of you that have not yet noticed; I started uploading additional pictures to Picasa -- you can find the albums located to the left (top of the navigation menu) labeled Web Albums.

The Next President?!?

I'm only putting this on the blog so years from now Carter has some thing to look back on..... Obama vs McCain

Sleepin' in for the Cure!

Saturday morning Josh & I; as well as 25,000 other people walked in The Susan G. Komen Race for The Cure. This was my 6th year participating in such a great cause. Thanks to all of you that supported me, your proceeds go to a great cause. Last I heard the total raised was close to 2 million!

Carter was going to join us, but Nana & Granddaddy came into town -- so, we let him Sleep in for the Cure!

Jackie bought Carter a neat little tent for his birthday -- he totally loves it. As you can see from the below Nana set up camp and the rest is history!

Sex and the City

On Sunday evening Jolene had 15 of us over for a pre-party! She spoiled us with yummy food and fabulous cocktails -- not to mention the beautiful martini glasses she hand painted for each and every one of us!

We then headed to the movies to indulge in a total chick flick.... Sex and the City!

Here is a shot of the Martini Glasses... Thanks Jo -- I'll cherish mine forever!

I was named the official bar tender... FUN!

Turns out they really do like each other -- may even call it sisterly love!!

Friends are such a sure thing -- you always know they'll be there for you!

A blast from the past....

Okay, so I was digging through some old emails and stumbled accross Carter's newborn pictures. We used a very well known photographer -- and really loved her, and the pictures. We just spent WAY too much money!! Check out her blog to see Carter!

Higher Daddy.... higher!!

Here is a quick glimpse of what's to come... on Saturday we took Carter to our favorite (only) photographer Danielle!

Surfer dude meet redneck!

On Sunday we took Carter to the neighborhood pool -- Mom, Mallory & Cameron joined us! We had a fun time. Mary-Charles and Ryan were there too! Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures!

Carter's outfit was truly comical -- he looked like a cross between a surfer boy and a true redneck with that camouflage hat of his.

Daddy & Carter swimming in the pool..... it took Carter a bit to get acclimated.

Snack time.... nothing like string cheese in the pool.

All the swimming -- playing with water guns -- and splish splashin' wears a kid out!
